CALIFORNIA PROPOSITION 65

Proposition 65, officially known as the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, is a law that requires warnings be provided to California consumers when they might be exposed to chemicals identified by California as causing cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm. The warnings are intended to help California consumers make informed decisions about their exposures to these chemicals from the products they purchase and use.

The law states that the state of California is required to publish a list of chemicals that are acknowledged by the State of California to cause cancer or reproductive toxicity. The list is updated once a year and now contains more than 900 different chemicals. The complete list can be found on the California Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) website at https://oehha.ca.gov/proposition-65/proposition-65-list.

As part of the law, businesses selling products in California must provide clear and reasonable warnings before knowingly exposing people to any chemical on the list, unless the expected level of exposure would pose no significant cancer risk. When a product manufacturer informs us that their product contains a Prop 65 chemical, we will provide a warning on the product page that says "Proposition 65 Warning." Please be advised that this product contains chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm.
