Yanagisawa has brought the instrument to the peak of its evolution with the Silver Series tenor saxophone. Solid silver gives this instrument incredible response and expressive range, as well as the ability to maintain its astonishingly clear, warm tonal center regardless of volume or pitch. Never have I seen nor played an instrument that was so capable and so beautiful. If Conn had made it through the horn wars back in the late 60's this is probably what some of their horns would look like. Intonation is spot-on. Tone has a wonderful core with lots of tonal colour in it; it's not bright like one would expect, but instead complex and lush. These horns are built to last. I decided to grab a solid silver model when my old 991 started to wear out after 15 years of hard road gigs and I sure made the right choice.
