I thought this mouthpiece was going to be a gimmick when I started test-playing it, but turns out it's a true professional piece of gear! It can be pushed hard or subtoned with ease, handles well from the bottom of the range all the way into altissimo, and tunes pretty well too. I didn't care for the factory-included ligature so I replaced it with a Rovner Versa and it runs a bit smoother with better response. Seems to really sound great on the Yamaha and Keilwerth saxophones! Would definitely keep one of these in my mouthpiece fleet for Pop, Jazz/Big Band, Marching, and Rock and Roll music styles. A well machined and creative design that would be great in the hands of an advanced student or professional!

Bari began with one man's mission to achieve a unique sound. Wolfe Taninbaum, the designer of the original Bari reeds and mouthpieces, was a musician who played under the stage name of Wolfe Tayne. After years of trying to perfect cane reeds, he turned to synthetics and in 1952 developed his first synthetic reed. It was the first one to gain acceptance from some of the world's top musicians.
