The cutting edge of Ibanez design, the S series, continues to be a marvel of form and function. Its signature body shape-sculpted, lightweight, and mahogany- is stronger and more musically responsive than guitars weighing twice as much. Though no longer called by its original name, the Saber, the S series is still a rock version of that quick, graceful and potentially lethal weapon.

Fast, flat and slim Wizard II-7 necks are built for speed and comfort.

AH17 (humbucker) neck pickup is versatile and responsive, with warm classic tone and added output. AH27 (humbucker) bridge pickup has enhanced mid-range output, with individual string clarity and excellent dynamics.

Arched top flamed maple top & mahogany back body efectively positions the strumming/picking hand optimally for anything from a fast riffing to fat, full power chords.

Zero Resistance technology, yet another Ibanez tremolo improvement, replaces standard knife-edge pivots with a ball-bearing based pivot joint, which provides greater tuning stability.

The "early" history of Ibanez began in 1908 when the Hoshino company began as a sheet music store. The "modern" history of Ibanez includes their work with Steve Vai, Joe Satriani and Paul Gilbert for hard rock/instrumental guitars. Ibanez is also one of the top selling bass companies and offers an impressive line of jazz boxes.
