Cymbal Buying Guide at Cascio Interstate Music
Introduced in 1971, Paiste 2002 was Paiste's top quality cymbal featuring sounds for the new electrified music styles. The original 2002 line became legendary, creating a rich heritage of jazz, rock, fusion and country. In more recent years, the 2002 line has been expanded to accommodate changing music trends. With the introduction of the new Dimensions line, the expansion 2002 cymbals become sonically obsolete and have been discontinued. The original, classic 2002 cymbals however, will remain in Paiste's lineup, representing the classic cymbal sound of the 60's and 70's, of which several current music trends are extensively rooted.

Medium bright, full, warm, brilliant. Wide range, fairly complex mix. Fast, responsive feel. Full, bright, energetic open sound. Sharp, full chick sound. The original, patented, wavy bottom hi-hat.

Just got these new hats. Thet are as loud and crisp as everybody says, but the also respond to delicate, soft playing. I play "piano bar" and blue grass accoustic gigs. I use thin AJ4 jazz sticks and play lightly. Partialy open, the wavy bottom cymbal yields a soft rain like sizzle. Played on the bow closed, you get a nice soft "tic-tic-tic" Wonderful hi-hats. The way I play, they should last about 400 years.

These are as close to that Bonham sound as I've found in a pair of hi-hats. They are loud and crisp, which is perfect for a rock show. These sound great tight or loose, and with the stick tip or shoulder. Also, with the wavy bottom hat, they cut when you stomp with your foot. These are just awesome!

In 1901, Michail Paiste began a publishing business/music store in Russia, and then made cymbals in Estonia. Today, new sounds are continually created with cymbals, gongs, and bronze instruments according to the creative needs of drummers and percussionists.
