I had (and lost) one of these over 40 years ago! I'm glad I took the plunge to try another one. The ride sound has a nice wash, a good contrast to my main 21" ride. And the crash is full and musical, responds quickly, and not at all clangy. I love my mix of cymbals now!

After hearing that Zildjian revamped the Avedis line, I was particularly interested in how the newly-crafted Crash/Ride sounded. Well, it was definitely a nice improvement! The older version was really thick. It was basically a thick crash that didn't work as either a crash or a ride. With any crash/ride cymbal, you're compromising a little bit (otherwise just use two separate cymbals), but this new version is thinner and more versatile than the older one, just as a crash/ride should be. The edge opens up and the bow has just enough wash. Even the bell works pretty well. If you want to simplify your setup, check this out - it is the swiss army knife of cymbals!
