Stewart Copeland's signature model is a faithful reproduction of the snare drum of "mysterious provenance" that he used with the Police and everything else from that time period. A brass shell that's 0.5mm thicker than the standard 1mm shell and the combination of a die-cast batter hoop with a triple flanged bottom hoop provides sounds that easily penetrate what Copeland describes as the "dirge from the bass and the ear-piecing sounds of a guitar".

  • Chrome Brass Shell
  • Die Cast Hoop on Batter Side
  • Triple Flanged Hoop on Snare side
  • High Tension Lugs
  • Evans Drum Heads

  • Fantastic metal snare.

I just have to echo what others have said about this snare. It has an AMAZING sound that I haven't been able to get from any other snare. I have 2 wood snares that I keep tuned deeper for blues / rock, but I wanted something I could get a different higher metallic sound from for jazz, pop, progressive. This thing is exactly what I was looking for. The COB (chrome over brass) shell has a beautiful ring to it that is way too pretty to muffle and it has great sensitivity and dynamic range. Cascio is a fantastic dealer, and has the best price by far!

This snare is awesome! I shopped for months for the right snare and tried all different metal snares; stainless, aluminum, titanium, brass...etc in all price ranges. This is the best playing and sounding to me from all categories. The five inch depth gives more height adjustability for comfort with great tuning range. I'm finally able to recreate the snare sound I've been hearing and trying to find for years. In my opinion the best metal snare drum for under a grand. Don't be scared to pull the trigger, you'll be glad you did.

This drum has it all - tone, power, crack, sensitivity... There is something about the combination of mixed hoops and a brass shell that works perfectly. I don't know of any other snare drum that has a die-cast hoop on the top and triple-flanged on the bottom, but it makes total sense. The tuning range is big. Tuned low, this drum gives you a dirty, old-school vibe. Tuned high like Stewart Copeland, you get the Copeland sound - tons of crack that cuts through the rest of the band. At any tuning, it has great tone and body. I highly recommend this drum!
