- A lightweight that does the job!

I saw this stand from Peter Erskine's YouTube demonstration, and I also heard Modern Drummer's Mike Dawson speak about it before I made the purchase with Cascio. I have to say that it's definitely lighter than any stand I've ever owned, especially from Tama. When I first received it, I was reminded of junior high band with similar-type stands that were falling apart and required duct tape to hold up. The Tama classic stand however set up real quick and easy, and it was surprising sturdy. Not once did I notice it swaying whenever I utilized each of my 21-inch Zildjian K rides on it. Plus due to its compact size, I was able to place it closer to me on the ride side than what I normally can using larger bases of other heavier duty stands. Now I don't know if this stand would be good for outdoor windy gigs or for power drummers who play loud and aggressively. There's also no boom stand option, but again, I had no problems with stand positioning. And there is no Quick-Set tilter like on their Roadpro and Star series. Instead, it has teeth that does 10 degree increments. While I really like Tama's Quick-Set tilters, I didn't miss it on this. I will say that it's a tad more expensive than Tama's budget Stage Master series, but the compact light weight and sturdiness of this stand more than makes up the difference. My hardware "bag of death" isn't as heavy these days as a result of this wonderful stand by Tama.
