A painstaking re-creation of the 1979 "narrow box" Overdrive Pro TS808, the Ibanez TS808 35th Anniversary overdrive pedal uses the same pair of 1458 chips as the original, giving you more distortion than later Tube Screamer renditions. Built like a classic vintage pedal, the 1979 TS808 had a removable bottom plate and no plastic battery cover. Also, the 1979 TS808's Level knob was labeled Balance, and its external power jack was next to its input jack. Nonetheless, the 1979 TS808 still gave you that unmistakable Tube Screamer tone that is part of so many legendary guitar players' signature sound.

Classic reissue gives you raved-about tone and a reasonable price tag
If you've ever peered out onstage at a pro pedalboard, then you've probably spotted the unmistakable Ibanez TS808 Tube Screamer lurking in the signal chain. Countless renowned guitarists choose the TS808 Tube Screamer for its smooth, full tone - in the style of overdriven tubes. This reissued Tube Screamer gives you the sound of the massively sought-after (and expensively collectable) 1979 "narrow box" Overdrive Pro TS808 at a price that's totally giggable.

Same chips and analog circuitry as the original for authentic TS808 tone
Often used to push a tube amp to its breaking point, the Ibanez Tube Screamer is a rather mild effect, as far as distortion pedals go. The original Tube Screamer was the green Overdrive Pro TS808, which was available in 1979 (mostly to markets outside of the USA) and was shipped in a narrow box. Because the 1979 TS808 utilized a pair of 1458 chips instead of JRC4558D or TA75558 chips like later revisions, it produced a fuzzier, more distorted sound. These pedals were built with a removable bottom plate and no plastic battery cover. Also, the 1979 TS808's Level knob was labeled Balance, and its external power jack was next to its input jack. The 1979 "narrow box" Overdrive Pro TS808 is the most sought after vintage Tube Screamer and can go for astronomical prices on the used market.
