The Clear Powerstroke 3 features a thin underlay at the outer edge of the head to subtly dampen unwanted overtones. This creates a near-perfect balance of response and tone control that has quickly made Powerstroke 3 one of Remo's most preferred drumheads.

The clear drumhead is Remo's brightest and most open sounding head. They're known for their bright tones, resonance, and sustain. Clear heads are best known as batter and resonant heads opening up the sound of tom-toms and bass drums.

  • New version of longtime Favorite!

I read a review of this product in an issue of Modern Drummer Magazine somewhere back in 2015. It got my attention because I almost always use 20" bass drums and am looking for the most bass boost I can get. The beater attack is already built in to this size and especially if the shell is Birch. I have used Remo Power Stroke 3 (clear) heads as my all time favorite for many years now. The MD review gave all the technical data as to the exact bass frequencies improved by the clear Black Dot model and also stated that the coated model boosted mid frequencies. Upon trying the Black Dot model, I did notice just to my ear that at the same tuning as previous head there was more of the rich bass tone I desired as well as enhanced attack. I then added what has become my other "go to" accessory for added bass response, a Kick Port. Again improved "FAT" sound and projection resulted. Finally with the addition of the Dixon Bass Drum Lift which I have been using for about a year now, I achieved what I feel is the ULTIMATE 1-2-3 PUNCH from my 20 x 16 Pearl Masters Custom Birch bass drum. The results with a Maple shell bass drum were comparable + warmth that Maple offers. SSsoooo, now I have a new Favorite!
