Hands down, the best explanation and break-down of technique available. Not only is the learning process produced in a way that's understandable for anyone, but Jojo also explains the "reasons" and the "why" of what makes proper technique. Most technique dvd's just show you the elements of what they are doing, but they don't say WHY or explain the REASON behind it. Not this one! Great for matched-grip players, and essential for traditional-grip players, in my opinion. The lessons in this dvd are life long, and fundamental for ALL drummers.

Jojo Mayer's Secret Weapons is a really thorough technical DVD set for drummers. If you're looking for a complete breakdown and step-by-step guide to great hand technique, look no further. Mayer starts with the basics and builds upon each idea in a logical manner. The slow-motion is very helpful and Mayer's explanations are easy to understand. This DVD set is great for intermediate or advanced drummers. The solo performances are also fantastic.
