a few years back they quit making the sticks I had been using for 30+ years. I got on interstate musician and I ordered 12 different pairs of drumsticks based on the length and diameter of the ones I used to use. these were the 3rd pair out of the 12 that I tried out. these sticks are excellently balanced and have some type of coating or something on them that makes them real grippy, which helps with holding on to them. I love these sticks, I am a heavy hitter and even though these sticks have a much smaller diameter than some I play them a long time and they get really thin around the cymbal crashing area before they ever break. I play 5 days a week for an hour or more on average, and for months after people start telling me the stick is going to break it keeps on going. I love the sound the nylon tip produces on the ride cymbal as well. I hope they never quit making these sticks, because despite what I thought, I love these sticks more than the model they replaced!!!
