I think these brushes are a good product. Like most things made by Vic Firth, they are designed well and are made durable. However, I would not get a lot of use out of these at most jazz gigs, despite the name of the brushes. The heavy gauge of the wires make subtle playing very difficult. The only way you can compensate is to turn the brush sideways, which is awkward. These are more geared towards general or loud playing, in my opinion. If you are looking for a good brush for jazz club settings, I would check out the Vic Firth Heritage brush instead.
