- Erskine Hits Again!

For years I've used the Peter Erskine Ride Stick (the one with the long tip, not the round one; for standard trio work, weddings etc.) and I have never found anything that comes close to the ease of playability, control, sound, and grip that this stick has. To have a jazz-type stick with a fatter diameter as well as a long taper is just an incredible design. It's the perfect combination for me. The Ride Stick has great feel and 'throw.'
So, when they came out with the Erskine Big Band stick I just had to try them to see what they were like.
I have been using the Big Band sticks exclusively now, mostly because my piano player loves the cymbal articulation, and they're a bit louder & have a great wood tone. Good for rim clicks too.
They feel great and work very well.
(Anything to make my pianist happy.)
So, cool! Try them both! Tone matched, colorful American flag...what's not to love?
Can't wait to see what might be coming down the pike next! Erskine + Firth = successful gigs
for this drummer.
