- My new stick

Forget jazz and chamber music, I use these for black metal at 210+ bpm. Granted, I'm moving faster around the kit than most metal drummers (although average for extreme metal) and not hitting necessarily that hard, but these sticks are so light and well balanced and seemingly durable that I switched to them after trying out just one pair (I used to play hickory 8Ds).
I decided to audition these initially because I wanted to change wood types since I'm fed up playing with hickory that constantly gets whittled down, ultimately throwing off the balance within 3-4 playing sessions. I can't yet vouch for the longevity on this model, but after 3 one-hour sessions, I see little to no similar damage.
On a performance level, these sticks have opened up a new range of dynamics and speed for me. I was instantly able to reach another 10 bpm with these sticks the moment I started using them, and because they're lighter, I can incorporate more power when I want to, without being a slave to it from a heavier stick. And after a 3-hour rehearsal today, there's none of the typical fatigue in my hands, wrists or arms I usually experience from my old sticks.
The control and balance is phenomenal. I have a lot more control of the attack as well.
