This is a good, solid practice pad. It feels good, depending on what you're looking for. I'd say it feels more like a marching snare than a concert snare because it has a slightly harder surface. It is nice having a rim to practice accurate rim shots. It also fits easily into a snare drum stand. One thing to consider is that this is a little louder than some other pads. If you want less volume, you should probably also get the SKINZ add-on for the top of this pad.
