Stage vibrations and low-end transfer can rob your amplified kick drum sound of it's full potential. A shock-mounted kick drum microphone platform is logical defense against these unwanted mechanical interferences. The Kelly SHU is an integrated shock mount and microphone isolation system adaptable to any standard kick drum microphone and any size or depth of kick drum. The system requires 0% of your valuable stage or riser space and eliminates the need of an additional microphone stand for the kick drum mic. Also, no drilling is required for installation. This is an integrated shock mount isolation system for bass drum microphones. The Composite Series offers the affordability of injection molding, using high-density compounds.

The Kelly SHU Composite System includes:
  • The Composite Mounting Unit
  • 10 Installation Holes w/ Grommets
  • 16 Support Cord Hooks
  • 2.75 ft of Solid Rubber Support Cord
  • 8 Interior Installation Loops
  • Universal Mic Post w/ Standard Threads
  • Oversized Jam Nut
  • Complete Installation Instructions

  • Works great- as long as you don't use a Beta 52

I really like this internal bass drum mount. Much cheaper than getting a May system. I'm not very handy with projects but I was able to figure out how to install this, after watching some YouTube videos that show you how. Making the bungie cords was the hardest part and guessing how long to make them. The biggest downside for me is that I own two Shure Beta 52 bass drum mics, and this mount won't work with that mic. I didn't know until I got the item, and it's in fine print on the side of the box. However I wound up using an AKG D-112 (the older one) and it worked fine. Also an Audix D6 works. Basically you need a bass drum mic that goes on a rubber mic clip- it doesn't on the Beta 52 because, which doesn't use a mic clip.
