First, let me say that I use this for practicing guitar, and I'm 5'8" tall (but have long legs). For guitar playing, it's good, but a couple of tweaks and it would be excellent.
First, it's a bit too tall for a guitar stool (and this is the short version); I'm debating whether to return it or saw a couple of inches off to make it more comfortable. At this price, it seems like I shouldn't have to go to such lengths, though (no pun intended).
Second, and this is my biggest issue, the saddle seat does not bring the awesomeness that I thought it would. It's really, really comfortable, so that IS awesome, but the problem is that you can't just sit down on it; you have to make sure you're sitting down with it turned just right--i.e., with the front of the seat pointed toward the front. This might not seem like a big deal, but when I have a big guitar slung over me, it's a hassle to try to look around it for where the seat is turned, and then another hassle to turn it the right way (it doesn't swivel that easily) without banging my guitar on something.
If it had a round seat (instead of the saddle) and were a bit shorter, this would be perfect. I have since gone out and bought the comfy RoadRunner stool they sell at GC for not quite half the price and have been using that instead.
