When Universal Percussion introduced Cannon Toms to the percussion market in 1977, they were the first-ever "tubular" melodic toms designed to be add-on complements to traditional drumkits. They were also the first Cannon brand product, and they helped launch what has since become one of the world's most successful lines of innovative and affordable percussion instruments.

Standard Cannon Toms are crafted using premium birch shells created to Universals precise manufacturing specifications. Fitted with low mass lugs, 2.3-mm hoops, and Attack drumheads, they are a great way to add sonic color to any kit. All Standard Cannon toms have a diameter of 8"and are available in 4''/6''; 6''/8''; 8''/10''; and 10''/12'' pairs, in black and wine red coverings. Each pair comes with a double tom stand.
