- Acceptable but getting worse

GREAT price, especially with the free shipping. I've had my beginners purchase this kit for several years. I'm starting to notice the quality is dropping, though. The connection point for the practice pad is wobbly on about half of the kits I order. It appears that the workmanship is not what it used to be. I may look elsewhere next year.
Also, the kit used to come with a pair of Vic Firth SD1 General drumsticks, and now it comes with a (terrible and useless) pair of dinky little Pearl sticks that are inappropriate for 6th grade beginners. I have a great collection of those Pearl sticks for playing cowbells, though.
Last complaint - the keyboard has the note names engraved on it. It used to be blank. Now I have to have my kids put stickers on the keys to cover the names up. If you want to make sure your kids NEVER learn their keyboard, leave them uncovered. Don't be surprised when they move over to a xylophone and are completely lost, though.
In summary, this is a good, not great kit. Pearl needs to step up, they are slipping.
