I keep coming back to this head any time I need a snare side. I prefer it over the Evans 200 and it seems to be similar to a Remo ambassador snare side head, but Evans have more conssistant tuning in my opinion and on classic American drums they are easier to fit than Remo's. It you really have a tight fit on an old drum, Aquarian has a series specifically for that situation. All in all, no matter what I am using for a batter or the type of shell material the 300 rattles the snare wires best to my ears.d

This Evans snare side heads seems to fit vintage snare drums better than the Remo counterparts. Sometimes Remo heads almost have to be forced onto the shell of old Ludwig drums, for example. This Evans is slightly larger and fits more easily. It sounds good and seems plenty durable. I don't understand why it is called "hazy" because it is about as clear as a drum head can get. Other than that, this is a nice snare side choice.
